The opportunity
Our client is seeking an IT Project Manager to lead initiatives across its IT roadmap and support security projects spanning Belgium. Working with IT and business colleagues, you’ll take ownership from planning through delivery, helping ensure projects meet agreed scope, quality, timing and budget while aligning with business goals, IT strategy, architecture and security requirements.
The sector
Insurance depends on secure, reliable technology to support services and operations. Digital transformation makes infrastructure modernisation and information security important areas of focus, while initiatives such as identity and privileged access management require close coordination across technology and business teams. This creates a need for project leaders who can connect strategic priorities with practical, well-governed delivery.
What you'll do
-
Lead IT projects end to end, from planning and execution through monitoring and closure.
-
Define project scope, objectives, deliverables and timelines, aligning them with business goals, IT strategy and dependencies.
-
Manage project plans, resources, budgets, risks, issues and dependencies, addressing deviations proactively.
-
Coordinate IT teams, business stakeholders and partners, facilitating decisions and managing escalations.
-
Maintain project governance and reporting artefacts, and support transition from project delivery into operations.
What you bring
-
A degree in IT or equivalent relevant experience, and at least three years’ experience in IT project management.
-
Experience leading multiple concurrent IT projects end to end, including IT security and infrastructure projects.
-
Practical capability in project planning and execution, resource and budget management, and risk, issue and dependency management.
-
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum, Waterfall and hybrid project approaches.
-
Fluent English and a good understanding of French and/or Dutch.
Useful, but not essential: PRINCE2, MS Project Online, Jira or Confluence; experience in finance or insurance and complex, cross-organisational environments.
