The opportunity
Our client is transforming seven major public-sector web portals to make essential services in education, culture, sport and justice more inclusive and user-friendly. As a UX Designer & Researcher, you’ll test ideas with users, turn findings into practical design improvements and work with business and development teams to support a coherent experience across the portals.
Public-sector digital services need to work for people with varied needs, levels of digital confidence and access requirements. Across the sector, organisations are focusing on accessible, responsive services and clearer online journeys, while using user research to guide design decisions. Shared design systems can also help maintain consistency across multiple services, making it easier for teams to improve experiences over time.
What you'll do

Conduct qualitative usability tests, including guerrilla testing, and prepare reports with actionable findings.

Create, correct and refine wireframes and prototypes based on user feedback, including finalising existing deliverables.

Help functional analysts review business needs and align them with UX goals; develop user flows and other artefacts where needed.

Work with development and business teams to support the implementation of designs.

Contribute to a coherent design system across multiple portals.
What you bring

Experience in usability testing, wireframing and prototyping.

Strong HTML and CSS skills, with five or more years’ experience.

Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch or MockPlus.

Ability to conduct interviews and focus groups, including preparing interview guides.

Strong communication skills in French and English.

Useful, but not essential: experience in public-sector or cultural projects.

This is an independent contractor collaboration through Ariad, working with our client.

Long/term collaboration.

The working model is hybrid, with flexibility and HQ in Brussels.
