Job Description – P1 UX Designer (Senior)
Project Context
The Department of Care (Departement Zorg) is looking for a Senior UX Designer / Information Architect to further develop a new (web) platform.
-
The platform is already operational but requires further evolution to integrate the old websites of the former Department WVG and the Agency for Care and Health, as well as various other data sources and applications.

The CMS in use is Drupal.

Long-term goal: build a flexible and dynamic ecosystem where subsites and partner sites can be integrated.

Focus in autumn 2025: integration of awareness and visually engaging campaign websites.
Key Responsibilities
-
Map and analyze existing content and functionalities of campaign websites.

Prepare and facilitate workshops with subject matter experts and communication managers.
-
Define and visualize user journeys with related requirements and functionalities.

Refine the navigation and thematic structure of the main website, ensuring alignment with campaign sites.
Required Skills & Experience
Must Have
-
At least 8 years of experience as a UX Designer.
-
Proven experience with design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, InVision, …).

Experience with Miro.
-
Strong background in User-Centric Design.
-
In-depth knowledge of web accessibility / inclusive design.
-
Professional experience in the public sector.
-
Strong knowledge of responsive screen design.
-
Native-level Dutch (CEFR C2).
Should Have
-
Experience implementing designs in HTML, CSS, Javascript.
-
Experience with content design (structuring and styling content-driven pages).
-
Experience working with the Flemish government.
-
Extensive familiarity with the specific objectives and requirements of public websites.
