About our role:

What if your designs helped power an entire country?

Our client, a key player in Belgium’s energy sector, is advancing its digital transformation. As part of this evolution, they are integrating user-centred design into safety-critical systems and planning tools. They are looking for a Senior UI Designer who can take complexity and turn it into clarity—creating intuitive, impactful interfaces that help manage electricity for millions.

This is your opportunity to influence how energy professionals work on the ground, while collaborating with a team that values insight, creativity and real-world results.

What you will be doing:

• Work with UX researchers and designers to create wireframes, prototypes and polished UI designs using Figma.
• Lead ideation workshops and co-design sessions with users, business analysts and developers.
• Develop storyboards, user flows and site maps to convey interaction strategies.
• Ensure visual consistency by contributing to and evolving the Elia Group’s design system.
• Present your design solutions to stakeholders, clearly articulating your reasoning and impact.
• Translate business challenges into intuitive design interactions with measurable outcomes.
• Take part in knowledge sharing and feedback sessions within the broader UX community.

What you bring:

• Ambition to shape design solutions that support safety, sustainability and digital innovation.
• At least 7 years’ experience in UI Design, Information Architecture or Interaction Design within Agile teams.
• Proficiency in design systems and UI patterns with strong attention to visual detail.
• Advanced skills in Figma and Miro.
• Knowledge of HTML and CSS; comfortable collaborating with development teams.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• A strong portfolio showing your ability to deliver effective design solutions (applications without a portfolio will not be considered).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; German, Dutch or French is a plus.
• Positive mindset, resilience, and autonomy in a fast-paced setting.

• Contractor collaboration. 50% workload mission until December 2025, with renewal possibilities.
