Our client is looking for a SEO/GEO Specialist who will take ownership of the organic search visibility across both traditional search engines and emerging AI-powered search platforms.

In this role, you are responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing the SEO and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) strategy across the digital ecosystem. You will ensure that SEO is embedded within broader marketing, commercial, and product launch initiatives, helping the company to remain highly visible in an increasingly AI-driven search landscape.

This is a highly autonomous specialist role where you are expected to set the direction, define priorities, and drive execution. While supported by an external SEO agency, the strategic ownership and decision-making responsibility sit with you.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop and execute the company's SEO and GEO strategy to increase visibility across search engines and AI-powered search platforms.
  • Own the SEO roadmap, defining priorities, initiatives, KPIs, and growth opportunities.
  • Monitor performance and translate data, market trends, and search insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Drive technical SEO improvements, including site architecture, crawlability, indexation, metadata, page speed, and structured data.
  • Develop and optimize content strategies that support both traditional search and AI-generated search experiences.
  • Partner with development teams and agencies to implement SEO best practices and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Support product launches and marketing campaigns with dedicated SEO and GEO strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, eCommerce, Product Management, and international stakeholders

What you bring:

  • 3+ years of experience in SEO, Organic Search, Digital Marketing, or a comparable role.
  • Proven experience developing and executing SEO strategies independently.
  • Experience managing and directing external agencies.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of technical SEO, including crawlability, metadata, site architecture, page speed, indexation, and structured data.
  • Strong knowledge of content optimization, keyword research, content strategy, and information architecture.
  • Experience with backlink strategies and authority-building initiatives.
  • Understanding of AI Search, Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), and the impact of AI on search behavior.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of search engine algorithms, AI developments, and industry trends.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, and Google Analytics.
  • Ability to translate data into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Comfortable operating independently and taking ownership.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.
