Experience has taught us that knowledge speeds up all processes. That’s why we are transparent in everything we do. Get real answers to some common questions.
Ancient mythology is full of wisdom that is relevant even today. We named our brand Ariad in honour of the Cretan princess Ariadne. She helped Theseus, the founder-hero of Athens, to find his way through the unnavigable labyrinth of the minotaur, a hybrid beast that killed all others who entered the maze. Ariadne knew the pitfalls of the maze and monster, and gifted Theseus with a sword and a simple ball of red thread, which allowed him to kill the minotaur and find his way out of the labyrinth.
On the tricky path of digital transformation, there is so much to take into account. With every step towards reality, even the simplest plan can become a complex maze with many operational dead ends, strategic U-turns, and unexpected barriers.

Our recruiters are specialised to these niches as well, so they are experts in understanding both client and consultant need, and speak the same language.
We are constantly researching market trends and evaluating our clients' needs to determine on which areas we should focus. We currently center our work around these main digital specialties.

At Ariad, we work with the very best digital talent operating in the European market, from experts with over a decade of professional experience, to the top up-and-comers that are looking to reshape their respective fields with with fresh and innovative ideas.
The most crucial characteristic that we look for in our consultants is the ability to truly put the customer first in any project that they are working on with our clients. We believe that such a mindset is crucial to making the difference in the digital economy.
We are on the lookout for people that are fluent in English and also Spanish, Dutch or French. Having full professional proficiency in these languages is essential for working as a consultant with the majority of our clients as they work both within the Benelux or Spanish market as well as on an international level.
The majority of our consultants have a minimum of three years experience, but we are willing to make an exception for candidates that show exceptional talent and understanding in terms of their breadth of understanding of their chosen area of expertise.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch for more advice from our team. We believe in hands-on transformation for our consultants as much as for our clients.
Each project is unique, but it's very common for consulting projects to start with 3-6 month contracts, sometimes up to 12 months. Projects can be full time, or 3-4 days per week.
On average, about 85% of contracts are extended, depending on project fulfilment, and if both the freelancer and client would like to continue working together. Ariad will help you in all transitional phases, including starting, extending, and ending each project--then getting you started on the next one.
The common conception can be that consultants only work on short projects, but long term projects can be around 2 years. No two projects are the same, and there is often a lot of flexibility.
Our consultants can be paid in two different ways. Some consultants work on daily rates, which depend on the experience of the consultant and the length and responsibilities of each project. Payment is typically made based on monthly invoices.
Other consultants work on salary, which is not dependent on their projects.
While certain projects may have different benefits, all Ariad consultants are eligible for career guidance and a training budget. Consultants can also join our different networking events.
Our clients are industry leaders in various sectors, with current concentrations in retail, banking, automotive, healthcare, telecom, media, chemistry and energy. Read more about each here.

The hardest material on earth? Actually, we find it quite flexible.
What’s the double diamond model?
A creative process approach used by designers from many disciplines. Different specialties apply different approaches, but the frame remains the same: a Double Diamond model, as named by the Design Council.
In every creative process, we have a flood of ideas. This is referred to as “divergent thinking”. These ideas are focused and narrowed down to the best one, a process known as “convergent thinking”. Visualised, this forms a diamond shape.
If you couldn’t guess by the name, we double down: one diamond represents the problem-defining process, and the second, the solution. The first diamond is key. If ignored, people often find out too late that the wrong problem is being solved.
Discover – Let’s get this project started. We look at the world with fresh eyes, trying to notice new things and gather insights. Collaboration casts different light and helps to fully illuminate the issue or task at hand.
Define – Find out what we’re really dealing with. We digest all the possibilities from the first phase, and come up with values. What’s a priority? What is attainable? The final result is a crystal-clear brief that gets to the heart of the problem.
Develop – Time to create solutions and concepts, get prototyping and testing. A mix of experience and trial and error helps to improve and choose the best solutions.
Delivery – Game on. Everything is in place to finish, produce and launch the final product, implement the solution in an effective, efficient way.
Every process is different, but this methodology can always be applied. Of course, the creative process is never simple. But what fun would it be if it were?
