About our role

Our client is a leading railway network company in Belgium seeking an experienced and talented UX/UI Designer. In this exciting opportunity, you’ll play a critical role in transforming the digital experience for real-time train traffic monitoring applications. This involves developing user-friendly and visually appealing frontends for both new and revamped web applications, ensuring accessibility and functionality aligned with a completely renewed design system.

Collaborating with a dynamic Agile/Scrum development team, you’ll engage directly with end-users, stakeholders, and other designers to craft seamless digital journeys. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the efficiency and user satisfaction of our client's critical applications.

What you will be doing

• Develop and expand the Design System.
• Analyse user experiences, needs, and bottlenecks by conducting and executing UX tests.
• Propose improvement plans based on UX test results.
• Coordinate UX initiatives from concept to implementation.
• Translate concepts into navigation structures, information architecture, functional descriptions, and create prototypes, wireframes, and mockups.
• Maintain direct contact with end-users and stakeholders.
• Advise colleagues (developers, analysts, etc.) in the field of UX.

What you bring

• 5–10 years of professional experience in UX/UI design.
• Proficiency in Dutch, French, and English.
• Strong expertise in UX research, design, and UI design methods and tools.
• Advanced skills in Figma, with good knowledge of Sketch, Adobe XD, Blender, Cinema4D, and Axure.
• Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS.
• Preferred familiarity with the railway sector.
• Essential certifications in UX Design & Research, Digital Accessibility, and Scrum.
• Soft skills: Analytical problem-solving, taking initiative, precision, stress management, and collaboration.
