About our role

Our client is a forward-thinking government institution renowned for its innovative and impactful projects. They are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join their team temporarily within the ICT department to lead and support key initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. This role involves supporting and coordinating the development of security-focused projects and ensuring the seamless delivery of ICT products and services.

You will work closely with internal product owners and program managers to oversee ongoing projects and contribute directly to the building blocks used by external customers. This role is pivotal in enabling this institution to maintain and enhance its leadership in delivering innovative, secure, and efficient digital solutions across the Flemish government landscape.

What you will be doing

• Understand and address customer needs, bottlenecks, and opportunities for specific products or services.
• Maintain visibility of the product's value (technical, functional, and substantive) and identify new opportunities for improvement.
• Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle, including development, operation, and ongoing optimisations.
• Set and monitor quality targets throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring standards are met.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to propose, communicate, and drive product enhancements.
• Coordinate with internal and external teams to deliver successful outcomes for security-related initiatives.
• Participate in steering committees and manage projects from conception through implementation.
• Use tools such as JIRA and Azure DevOps for project tracking and communication.

What you bring

• A pragmatic attitude, with a willingness to tackle challenges hands-on.
• Experience with ICT projects and an understanding of product management (formal product owner experience is not mandatory).
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate technical teams and build relationships at various levels.
• Affinity or experience with security projects.
• Experience using project management tools like JIRA and Azure DevOps.
• Exceptional communication skills in English, with Dutch or French as a bonus.
• Flexibility and a proactive approach to managing competing priorities.
